The Mayfield is a traditional English family-friendly pub in the village of Seamer just outside Scarborough. They are valued customers of ours, for which we've been producing signage and various menus, posters and brochures over the years.
This time around, they wanted a refresh of their outdoor seating area and they approached us to help with producing entrance signs and provide a solution for their exterior TV enclosure display.
Signage
For the entrance to the beer garden, we produced one 600mm (h) x 3700mm (w) sign comprising of cad cut gold & matt white vinyl featuring solvent adhesive matt black vinyl and one 650mm (h) x 5000mm (w) matt laminate sign featuring solvent adhesive vinyl, both mounted on our popular and hardwearing 3mm Dibond Aluminium Composite boards.
Outdoor TV enclosure
Our customer also had installed an outdoor TV screen and were looking for a display solution that would be both decorative and vandal proof.
We started by fitting 10mm black foamex material for the screen surround to form a background for information. Headline cut vinyl decals were applied, along with lines in order to position events information.
Next, we produced a polycarbonate protective screen, with cut reveals for the TV speakers – as well as forming protection, it was used to write on with white marker pens over the backdrop of the black foamex background. It was slightly raised off to allow air flow between the TV and protective screen.
When not in use, the TV opening in the wall has a shutter screen which drops down. We covered this with a decorative conforming gloss laminated vinyl. When fitting, cuts were made at each shutter slat, to allow for movement of the shutter when opening and for the graphic to join up when the shutter is shut.
The result is a very sleek display which not only works for protecting the outdoor TV but also helps the entire enclosure blend in with the exterior and provides a clever way for our customer to further develop their brand.
